If I had written Tiger in assembly it would still be in the state it was 5 years
ago. Being able to modify what I want easily and quickly is really important. My
basic work sessions are an evening long. If I can do something in an evening (or
in the night), I try it. If it is longer, I'll certainly not try it unless I am
SURE I will gain something from it.
The problem is that for 100 ideas you try there is maybe ONE that will work
great. I cannot imagine doing that in assembly. C Compilers are nowadays so well
optimized that it is good enough for me.
