I wrote more than once that no GM does what Fern advised. All good players want to have an opponent at his best and NOT just go for the intestines of a helpless victim. BTW all show events until now have that hidden ethical background. All players could have gone for the easy kill against these automats who dont play chess but only dimulate a play. But of course, Fern knows that all better than me... sigh.
