Interesting question. Since Hydra is a hardware-based system, it's must harder
to update than is Rybka. Accordingly, if Rybka is anywhere near Hydra now, it
could easily overtake Hydra in the future, software code being easier to revise
than hardware circuits. Particularly when Vasik gets the endgame code in. I
really doubt Chrilly can keep up. Vasik was able to put into Rybka something
very very new and very effective, a paradigm shift. Hard to revise Hydra's
hardware in the same way in a reasonable amount of time, assuming it could even
be done without a total "rewrite of the hardware."

So it's a smart search on slower hardware versus Chrilly's much faster search
based on an outdated chess paradigm.

Wild guess as to the score...I don't know. Somewhere there's a set of games
Hydra versus Shredder, and it's said that Rybka is tuned against Shredder. So
which one beats Shredder the worst? Maybe that's the only guide right now.

Roger
