And yet that need exists.
You need approval from Eugene Nalimov and Andrew Kadatch.

Books are a compilation of facts. They are copyrightable.
The relevant copyright notices:
/* Compress/decompress some chess tables */
/* */
/* Copyright (c) 1991--1998 Andrew Kadatch */
/* */
/* Probe chess endgame database ("tablebase") */
/* */
/* Copyright (c) 1998--2001 Eugene Nalimov */
They cannot be used without permission. They cannot be sold without permission.
There are some kind souls that have allowed free access to EGTB files. For use
with a program that already has permission, there is nothing wrong with that.
To download them and sell them is DEFINITELY illegal.
IMO-YMMV.
I'm not a lawyer either.
