i think in practical strenth computers are stronger than the strongest
grandmasters,,,, i think the reason man will always be able to compete is that
man always finds away ,,,,even rybka or and chess machine that can be created
can be undermined by humans,,,,,i have never tryed it because all i ever wanted
to do was get better as a chess player but,,,,,what if a person took a program
like rybka found a very sure ways to get the program out of book early even at
the expense of a slightly inferior position,,,found maybe 8 or 9 ways to get the
program out of any reasonable oppening book ,,,,,then had another program use
much more time (turn ponder off on rybka) so that u have several sure ways to
beat rybka then,,,,,take a person who never even played chess in there life
,,,showed them the several winning solution and had them memorize the
wins,,,,,there u have it rybka beat by a player who never even played a real
game in there life ,,,,,,imagine what a grandmaster could do in that situation
????????????????????????????????????
