Why do you prefer PGNs rather than FENs for this?  I also use XBoard and
shell scripts for running such matches, and as far as I can tell PGNs are
just as easy to use as FENs.  Just replace -lpf with -lgf and -lpi with -lgi
in your script, and everything should work.

Yes, they look interesting.  I'll try using the Silver positions rather than the
Noomen positions from now on.
