Shouldn't one of the purposes to of the chess community be to promote the highest quality matches possible? It seems that this is best achieved with Freestyle chess. This is where the only rules are the moves and the time limits, players can use any aids necessary to play their best game. Remember when 2 amateurs with an arsenal of various chess engines won a freestyle chess tournament last year beating a GM using Fritz?? (http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=2453). We should be advocating the most advanced chess games possible. Why is more not done to promote this? Are there any other ideas to raise the level of play?
