Note that I believe that the best commercial programs of 1997 could also play in the 2nd division at WBEC(of course they could not use the hardware of WBEC in 1997). Note that I know of no nimzo9 and if we compare with nimzo8 then nothing is sure. Hardware has it's limitation but also there are new ideas in computer chess since 1997 and hydra may has better pruning relative to Nimzo8. Uri
