I agree, and it will be fascinating to see an engine methodically go through
endings that were usually very difficult for engines.  Chess endings usually
follow fairly simple principles and I would say 90% of them can be categorized
into standardized setups with simple plans.  With the added power of huge
calculation, these simple plans can add tremendous strength in endgame play.  It
will remove the last weakness of chess engines, and we will move into the era
where a chess engine is superior to humans in all aspects of chess.
