Some have shown positions where the node total given is nothing short of impossible. I personally ignore NPS numbers except when performance-tuning a program. Then I might make some optimization tweaks and expect the NPS to go up while the total node count remains unchanged. Other than that type of case, NPS is just another number that can be compared to lots of other numbers.
