Hi Chris,
what do you mean by WMCCC? It usually stands for world MICRO computer chess
championship. This year there will not be independent micro championship. The
micro champion will be the entry that scores higher in the WCCC, world computer
chess championship.

The ICCA has published the list of participants for this year's WCCC. There are
30 of them. Crafty is not going to play.

I agree.

I think many of them would be willing to play for a big amount of money.
Remember that they are professional players and will not risk their reputation
for nothing. While I do not like the situation, I fully understand their
position.

Kamsky should be very rusty by now. But after a few months of study and
training, I think he can clobber any micro program and beat any program
(including Deeper Blue) in a long match (20 games I am thinking).

GM's do not play for free. And those events were rapid games, not standard time
controls. A grandmaster will ask a lot more money for a match at a standard time
control than for a rapid match.

That depends on the number of games and their frequency. Playing only three
games a week (as in the old world championship matches) humans can last very
long (remember that 48 game match between Kasparov and Karpov).

Depends on which grandmasters you are thinking. It is very different to take ten
2550 Elo grandmasters (of which there are plenty active) than the top ten
players of the world.
