Hello, I have windows xp, the latest regular version of winboard 4.2.7 and Polyglot 1.4. I made a directory for polyglot and put inside all the necessary files (books, cygwin, *.ini files). I renamed "Rybka v1.0 Beta.w32.exe" to "Rybka.exe" for Polyglot compatibilty. Here's my rybka.ini file : [PolyGlot] EngineDir = C:\lokasoft\chesspartner5.3\engines\rybka\ EngineCommand = Rybka.exe Book = true BookFile = C:\polyglot\performance.bin ; same directory as INI file, use full path otherwise [Engine] Hash = 32 Search Direction = Very Positional And the desktop shortcut : C:\WinBoard\winboard.exe -fd="c:\polyglot\" -fcp="c:\polyglot\polyglot.exe rybka.ini" Everything works fine on my computer so you may wonder "what's wrong then ?". Well, I installed *exactly* the same way rybka+polyglot to a friend's computer, checked the spelling of the files, same path, same directories and an error message is displayed : "cannot find rybka.ini". He has winboard 4.2.6 and windows 98 SE. I even made a *.BAT file wihout success. I really don't understand why it works on my computer and not on his one. Thank you for helping.
