Her name was "Momma Kitty" and she was a ferile cat that moved into our garage to have a litter of kittens. Basically she was a little wild and ferocious beast. I brought her little bits of food but she would not let me pet her for several weeks. Finally, she let me pet her (and I could tell she liked it) but when I stopped she clawed at my boot like some alien sewing machine gone berserk. One day, a german shepherd dog came into our yard while she was lying in the garage with her kittens. She jumped to her feet and shot like an arrow straight towards the dog (and her velocity was just unbelievable). She jumped into the air and landed on the dog's face. She bit her teeth into the hair on the top of his head towards the back of his skull, with her claws dug into the lower parts of each ear. She then took her free hind legs and raked them down the dog's face at a blinding rate (at least ten strokes per second). The dog was wailing and yiping and shaking his head from side to side. When he finally shook her free, she chased him down the road until both of them were out of sight. I fell in love with momma kitty at that moment. She had lots of other interesting quirks. She had bad eyesight and thought every man that came into the house was me. So she would trot right up and jump on their laps. But then she was close enough to see that it WASN'T me and blast straight up into the air like a grenade had exploded. I was the only one in the house that could pet her.
