I am afraid they will never do this. It would not help them but the other
manufacturers. Therefore it will not happen, unless an engine programmer himself
decides to do so (like SMK did), and sells an UCI version himself.

Should be done. It is a clear disadvantage of Fritz that the GUI cannot
open/read those formats directly.

No, these problems have been solved. Just care to use the latest versions of the
GUI exe and UCI.dll. I dont have Fritz 9, but 8 (ChessProgram8.exe):

my CP.8  GUI is of Dec. 20th, 2005
my UCI.dll is version 2.0.1.0

If you have Fritz 8 but not Fritz 9:

http://www.fritzserver.org/updates/gui8.iup

Download this into your Fritz (Chessprogram8) folder and run IUpgrade.exe
