Why is it fast in ChessBase 9? Takes an extraordinarily long time on my Athlon 3500 with 1 GB ram, also. I believe it's some tablebase activity. Try "unchecking" tablebase access and see if it loads faster. Right now I'm not able to test it. Cheers, Chuck
