Yes! It is the tablebases, but it was my fault. I mistakenly thought that the engines would not look for tablebases that they already found. You see, my computer is a laptop. I keep my chess databases and 3,4,5,6 man tablebases on an external drive. Sometimes, I don't have the external drive with me, so I keep a copy of just the 3,4,5 man tablebases on my internal drive. I also have the 3,4,5,6 man tablebases on a fileserver. So, I had my tablebase path set up like: x:\tablebases;c:\tablebases;s:\tablebases where x is external & s is the server. When I removed the server path, it worked fine. But now I'm wondering, why was Chessbase fast. It has the same path setup. Does it not tell the engine where to find the tablebases?
