Mike, Blacks king move to e4 rather than e3 is the correct move. I find that my Rybka 1.13d is giving the initial analysis based on the move black king to e3. It appears that you may have better EGTBs installed in your machine. Another odd thing is the speed up in searched nps after the Ba2 move. The nps then goes from 600 nps down to 6 nps when the mate is certain. Rybka is a strange fish, TJ On February 11, 2006 at 20:56:48, Mike Byrne wrote: >FEN: 8/5B2/8/2p5/8/p1P2k2/1pK5/8 w - - 0 1 > >Rybka 1.01 Beta 13d: > 3 00:00 608 622.592 +0.03 1.Ba2 > 4 00:00 1.448 1.482.752 +0.03 1.Ba2 > 4 00:00 2.608 2.670.592 +0.15 1.Bg6 > 5 00:00 3.240 195.162 +0.15 1.Bg6 Ke3 > 6 00:00 5.576 178.432 +0.37 1.Bg6 Ke3 2.Kb3 > 7 00:00 10.200 94.952 +0.03 1.Bg6 c4 2.Bf7 Ke3 > 8 00:01 21.984 55.311 +0.03 1.Bg6 c4 2.Bf7 Ke3 3.Be8 b1Q+ > 8 00:01 25.640 47.911 +0.36 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.c4 > 9 00:01 32.928 37.800 +0.03 1.Ba2 Ke2 2.Kb3 Kd2 3.c4 Kd3 > 10 00:02 48.592 36.586 +0.12 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 > 11 00:02 66.752 35.843 +0.03 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 > 12 00:03 89.808 34.010 +0.03 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 > 13 00:04 108.216 32.823 +0.03 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 > 14 00:04 129.232 32.943 +0.03 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 > 15 00:06 156.920 30.877 +0.03 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 Kc2 > 16 00:07 304.952 47.349 0.00 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 b1Q > 17 00:08 506.224 64.290 0.00 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 b1Q > 18 00:10 554.296 60.946 0.00 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 b1Q > 19 00:11 614.752 58.640 0.00 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 b1Q > 20 00:13 687.272 55.532 0.00 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 b1Q > 21 00:15 773.784 54.879 0.00 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kb3 Kd3 3.Bb1+ Kd2 4.c4 Kc1 >5.Ka2 Kd2 6.Kxa3 Kc3 7.Ba2 b1Q > 22 00:25 972.752 40.995 +3.07 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kd2 c4 3.Ke2 Kf4 4.Bb1 Ke5 >5.Ke3 Kd5 6.Kf4 Kd6 7.Ke4 Kc5 > 23 00:28 1.430.360 52.749 +2.29 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kd2 c4 3.Ke2 Kf4 4.Bb1 Ke5 >5.Ke3 Kd5 6.Kf4 Kd6 7.Ke4 Kc5 > 24 00:33 2.021.048 62.770 +4.03 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kd2 c4 3.Ke2 Kf4 4.Bb1 Ke5 >5.Ke3 Kd5 6.Kf4 Kd6 7.Ke4 Kc5 > 25 00:39 2.227.896 58.848 +4.09 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kd2 c4 3.Ke2 Kf4 4.Bb1 Ke5 >5.Ke3 Kd5 6.Kf4 Kd6 7.Ke4 Kc5 > 26 00:44 2.461.888 57.518 +4.09 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kd2 c4 3.Ke2 Kf4 4.Bb1 Ke5 >5.Ke3 Kd5 6.Kf4 Kd6 7.Ke4 Kc5 > 27 01:03 2.827.008 46.456 +M31 1.Ba2 Ke4 2.Kd2 c4 3.Ke2 Kf4 4.Bb1 Ke5 5.Ke3 >Kd5 6.Kf4 Kd6 7.Ke4 Kc5 > >a few years , this problem fell under teh category " can you show me a winning >score" > >http://chessprogramming.org/cccsearch/ccc.php?art_id=320311
