Subject: Rybka 1.0 32bit beats Rybka 1.01 beta 13D--Good News for Rybka 1. 0

On a slow AMD 1500 MHz machine with ponder off and both programs using Shredder
8.ctg opening book I obtained an intermediate score of zero wins for Beta 13D,7
Draws and two losses against it's older brother Rybka 1.0. Eventually, the new
program would have probably gotten a few wins and obtained parity with the old
inferior program.

I noticed that the old Rybka was more aggressive at passing pawns and holding on
to the queen. I saw no real improvement in an already excellent program.
We shall have to wait for the vaunted Rybka 1.2 in order to get god-like
performance.

Enjoy,

Uncle Timbo

PS On a faster dual processor or an AMD FX-60 I am sure that the new Rybka 64
bit program would be much better than the first Rybka....or would it?
