I know that some of you feel that being beta testers (unofficially) for Rybka is like being tricked, your doing the work for free. I personally disagree 100%. Unlike Fritz/junior/shredder who are all top performers in terms of SSDF and tournaments run by the likes of mike , kurt and others they...once released are as good as that particular version will ever get. In testing personalities or programing styles with the program, those programers can only rely on their own testing and previous versions. I love the fact that the entire community is essentially pitching in to make a stronger, superior engine. I don't mind running tests with rybka beta's to see which is stronger, adjusting the personality and having them wage war. This is, in my opinion the most successful and smartest way for any author to tweek his program to the max. What other way can someone recruit or hire in this case a 1,000 beta testers??? And imagine the quality the end product will have if the author listens and studies those beta testers results such as Vas does. My hat is off to him, I am in corporate banking and I've seen a lot of sales and marketing tactics in my day, this is absolutely fantastic, I hope he does it for the next version, and the version after that. Good luck Vas, keep up the testing and I hope your program continues to increase in strength!! -Derek Paquette
