no
i am never the seller of these auctions
ever
i dont even know who the sellers are
if i were then yes it would be exactly the same

the topic of dedicated chess computers and their value is ON topic
many times i post information about the computer being sold on Ebay which some
members find interesting and oft times it leads to a discussion about the
history of that computer

and many times i critique the auction..showing its faults and what is not
included in them or if a computer is defective
i probably point out the deficiencies of these auctions more often then the good
points
and other times myself and other members point our Sham auctions so that others
can avoid them

others post threads about which computers are best to run chess programs
and they get opinions about particular brand names and manufacturers
these are also not commercial endorsements and provide useful information to the
members

i think there is a world of difference between these things and a program author
asking members how they would feel about a paid subscription service

Steve
