Peter, sorry to be blunt but that is _stupid_. If someone chooses to not play because you are the TD, then let them choose to not play. It will _not_ be a great loss, IMHO. Many of us choose to play because you _are_ the TD. Ever think about that angle? So if someone tells you "I'm not playing because you don't want commercial posts on CCC and you ticked off a few people by stating so." then you should respond "go to hell. Play or not. It is your choice, not mine. It will be your loss, not mine." And then ignore them. > >These people will still have to deal with me on game day, but just as a >participant. > >My decision to resign as moderator really stems from certain comments that just >blew the wind out of my sails. Uri's comments just floored me, and Mike Byrne's >comments just baffled me. I have not read much of the bruhaha... I didn't read mike's post but will try to find out what he said. Uri's post made little sense to me, since the CCC charter point 4 is simple to define if one just uses an online dictionary, which I did. > >When people do not care for something, why waste your time to improve it or even >maintain it? Even worse is when they can say such things in public and _I_ am >the bad guy. Depends on who/what you care about. I'm a computer chess fan. Been one longer than anyone here. I'm interested in computer chess, not people's feelings when they get hurt because of a correct action being taken. People come and go, computer chess has been around for over 50 years now. The whiners and complainers are not going to make it disappear. But if you give in to them, they have a real chance to hurt things. > >I do however thank the people that have emailed me or posted here supporting me >(Thanks Thorsten for your usual mind blowing input), but my decisions will >stand. > >Peter Certainly your choice, although I would suggest you at least reconsider CCT8. Don't let whiners run you off from something you did well the last time around.
