Probably some winboard engines will work fine - although when I asked about
winboard support, I did not receive a comfort level that the authors were really
concerned about getting Crafty to work in their GUI. I even had problems
trying to use Crafty with the wb2uci tool with Shredder GUI. Crafty works best
in Winboard and Arena period on the PC - everything else is a little flakey and
does not appear to be worth the effort. Again , I suggest you get Crafty to
work in known working GUI first - Arena or Winboard - that will get you familiar
with Crafty and its commands. Then try Shredder Classic.
