Last year I bought Junior 9 from Chessbase. It was likely the only case I bought new programmes from that company. Uh, no, I also used to buy Hiarcs 9 from them. I was using Junior 9 a while while analysing my correspondence games in ICCF, then put it aside for better (like I thought) programs like Fritz 9 or Hiarcs 10. Then I had one very tough and complex game to analyse where I was on the verge of loss. I tried different engines for it; all of them were very vague about understanding the real position, to be true. Then, all of a sudden, I tried Junior 9 and was really amazed how objectively he evaluated the game. When I scanned the variants he produced on other chess engines, a little bit laters they agreed with his estimation. Wow, it was a real surprise to me! I guess, when used in combination with Rybka for analysis, Junior can really be very, very useful. I wonder, if Amir Ban is working on the next version, Junior 10, and when the new monster is going to appear on the market. Anyone got any news about that? Regards, Alexander
