Probably Rybka, but it is hard to be sure. The SSDF is the most reliable source for that type of answer, and Rybka has not been tested there. The CEGT has tested Rybka, and it appears to be strongest on that list: http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/cegtrating4040all.html >A lot of people seem to deem Rybka as the strongest overall engine, are there >any cons? There are always pros and cons. Rybka has no interface, so you will need one to use it. Jose and Arena work admirably for that purpose. >Also, I'm especially interested in what the strongest short timer blitz engine >is. I've noticed Fruit seems disproportionately weak at blitz. At 40 moves/40 minutes and 40 moves/2 hrs Fruit is among the strongest in the world and currently leads the SSDF list: http://web.telia.com/~u85924109/ssdf/list.htm >What is the strongest engine for bullet times? Since you are interested in blitz, YABRL might be what you are looking for. It's a newsletter and not a web site, though. There is also Yuri Lyapko's list, but he does not test the commercial engines.
