There are maybe positions where the evaluation of Rybka and Fruit are similar, but they are not the majority. If you take a look while searching Rybka and Fruit, as well as Shredder 9, do consider different most of the time. Rybka is able to find good moves and often the best ones or among them nearly immediately so this means that the evaluation and the chess knowledge of this program is what it makes it stronger. Taking advantage of this and adding tactical extensions let's the program find good tactical moves too. It is also not true that it is weak in the endgames, but the opposite. It is true that this program is weak in some endgames, but not all. I am expecting Rybka to get a SSDF list Elo about 150 points above Shredder 9, but in May/June it will not be no. 1 anymore. Sandro
