He did that mistake several times, which suggests good chance that he will do it
again.

Please note that not all quarrels initiated by him were leading to member's
leave. Many times we were letting go, for the good of the team. I tried what I
could to keep the team stable, until I could not bear it anymore.

Actually a few members were pointing out his actions to him in our forum or by
email. Do you think it helped?

I for one know what I did wrong. I was tolerating too much. I was helping him
too much with the stats and the database. But you know, he just thought he is
giving me a favor. I spent endless hours on CEGT stats, web-site, forum, etc..
Did I ever ask anything in return? No, just to have fun with my hobby. There
were endless debates over nonsence topics, and what's more it was hurting to see
other members leaving when they could not stand what I could.

I have to add that I know by example that it can be different. We have 8 members
now, with totally harmonic and pieceful atmosphere. It means it is possible.
