On analysing an endgame with more than 6 pieces, many variations lead to identical positions which I know to be won or drawn. I think it would be useful if I could somehow tell the engine to evaluate these positions as won or drawn. Rather than needing a huge EGTB file, I would only need to set the evaluation for a handful of positions - the engine might then be able to see if the won positions can be forced, and the drawn positions avoided. I suppose that, given the right software, one could also define more than one position at once, e.g. if the pawns are here, the rook can be anywhere on the board etc. Is it possible to create partial EGTBs, or does an EGTB need to be complete for all positions with those pieces? Any feedback for being able to manually set an evaluation for given positions? Anythig currently out there along these lines? (apart from Shredderchess's Freezer)
