Shredder is there for the Mac. www.shredderchess.com
and it runs parallel too. he shows up at tournaments parallel at macs also
(except for world champs usually where speed counts a bit more).

I understood it's an entire new GUI made in JAVA, a completely different branch
of code than the old Shredder GUI.

Worth buying if you have a mac!

Those lobotomized power5 processors (G5) are pretty good if you compare it with
old Mac processors. That they are objectively a lot slower than A64 doesn't
matter too much if we consider the huge speedup you get over G4.

Of course a problem from power5 is the limited integer performance they show,
which is a result of a weirdo design issue with respect to integer performance.

Computerchess just is about integer performance.

Stefan seems to take over monopoly on sales in Mac world now with Shredder.

So there is nothing that can stop you from buying a mac in this sense.

A titled player is of course is most interesting to play against, especially
strong GM's!
