Best program (impressed me the most):

Strength: Deep Blue II (any program or person that can beat the
world champ in a match is impressive in my
                          opinion).

Strength (Single processor): Deep Blue Jr, great record againt a
wide range of opponents, not enough
games, I wish they would have played
                             more.

Both raised the bar, I do not think I will be
impressed as much by strength again, I will expect
it.

First time (similiar to first love): Sargon

Beat the pants off me on my IBM PC Jr for the first
few games I played. I improved, it did not.

Freeware: Crafty/Winboard all I need to know about
chess programming. TSCP for its simplicity.

Today (price/value/opponent): CM6K, good strength, good price

Today study aid: CBLight, I can study games from TWIC and have
                  good analysis from Fritz 4.

This year I plan to buy CM7K and CB/Fritz 6 when released. CBLight
has convinced me this is a good combination for me.

Best Regards,
Chris Carson
