World famous opening book author and CCC member Jeroen Noomen is certainly no
stranger to the old dedicated computers
as his previous posts here have shown..his days working for Mephisto were filled
with exciting tournaments and interesting lore

today for our viewing pleasure i am proud to show two photos from two such
classic events

here we see Jeroen operating Rebel against GM Anand on the Italian island Ischia
in 1995

and what is a true landmark in dedicated chess computer history..

here we see Jeroen playing the famous game that Mephisto Portorose won against
Anatoly Karpov in Munich, 1990. he operated the Mephisto and tricked Karpov by a
draw offer: he refused it and immediately blundered, after which the Portorose
won the game.
