Regularly difficult to compare one version of any chess program against
another in playing itself. Here is what I do and it seems to work.
Pick 9 opponents for the two crafties. Play a gauntlet using CraftyA against
the 9 opponents (4 games each). Then another gauntlet using CraftyB against the
same 9 opponents. No need for CraftyA to match with CraftyB.
The 9 opponents should be "__centered__" around Crafty's strength.
When the two guantlets are done, pick the one with the best score. In case of
a tie, pick the one which gave you the most intersting games or let Bob decide.
