I do not care if they are professional, amatuer, student, professor, rich or poor.. Your comment is , essentially , "life is not fair" - that's a very fair comment with respect to all kinds of endeavors - not just chess programming. I'm here simply to enjoy life and a part of my life is chess and another part is chess computers and another part is chess engines. I enjoy them all -- and whoever helps me to enjoy those thing even more by creating a chess engine - I'm all for it. I'm personnally rooting for Crafty - but the field is extremely strong. I think Zappa had a great shot at retaining the title - but I have to consider Rybka as the favorite ( fair or not fair) ;>). Rybka does have some bugs - I just sent one today to Vas where it inexplicabbly played the wrong move against Crafty and lost. Rybka is a not by any means a sure thing to win this tournament - there's alot of random like variables that may come up and impact the overall standings. Go Crafty! Mike
