Moses did not bring CM6K down from the mountain on a stone CD-ROM.

Probably a lot of things accept capitals, given a choice between eating
something that is a little weird, and writing yet another obscure error message
into a program, most of us would be a little flexible about input format.

We don't have ANSI standards in chess, but the standard commonly available and
used by approximately everyone includes lower-case letters in that field.
