Steve, Do you find the Fidelity machines to be unreliable? Or did I just have a bad run with them? My first ever chess computer was the '8-Level', in the brown plastic case, similar in shape to the one in your post. Light on every square. It was reliable, but quite weak in it's play. I remember taking it to work strapped on the back of my motor bike. Sold it, then had a couple of Fidelity duds. A '9-Level', similar in shape again, but the case was black. I bought it second hand and it broke down before too long. Then I had a Fidelity Elegance, in a wooden case. It also broke down. A chess computer retailer told me he thought they perhaps developed problems with non use, because others were reporting the same problem. My chess computer was now a manual chess set. My Novag Expert is my pride and joy, even though it gets eaten alive by any number of free software programs nowadays. It still gives me a tough fight. regards Lin
