One final point, I do not think that it is a requirement for a superGM (or a GM for that matter) to be the source of a knowledge database. I think that programs can detect ALOT of knowledge (especially in endgames) that GMs have never even thought about (several positions that used to be draws are now considered wins, etc.). I also think that chess game databases CAN be analyzed by sophisticated programs to extract chess knowledge (i.e. chunks) and that knowledge can then be used (either via a knowledge database or hard coded) to improve chess programs. Since it has been easier up to now to use other techniques, I do not think that we will see many knowledge derived programs for a while, but once the "wall" gets too firm, I predict that this is the direction programmers will go next.
