Subject: Collector's Corner..The Fickled Ebay Market Place

There is simply no rhyme or reason for a price on Ebay
one day a chess computer can sell for $100 and a week later that very same model
can rake in $1000

case in point:
here is a run of the mill,ho-hum ,Fidelity 6100 Phantom Robot missing the dust
cover
these computers have sold for less then $500 and over $1500
generally speaking Robotic chess computers attract a much wider bidding audience
then die hard collectors or even just people interested in chess .
this makes the swing in price range all the more erratic

this particular auction remained bidless for its entire listing of 7 days and
then with one day to go ..someone stumbles in and bids $900!
why someone wouldnt wait until the end to bid this price is a puzzlement to me
to begin with
