Fruit just had "one of those events" where anything that can go wrong _will_ go wrong. It has happened to others and will happen to even more in the future. Even ChessThinker who is normally solid as a rock had eval bugs and so forth.. even throwing away a Queen in one game. Sometimes you are damned if you do and your damned if you don't. >Wasn't it possible to buy one good PC for tests and competitions with the money >earned so far? The machine they had was fine. Even PostModernist had issues in the first game. Unfortunately Fruit did not have the same luck in finding and fixing the issue as quickly. Again.. your damned if you do.. >What are Joachim and Fabien opinions on this ? >None of them still seems to react publicly to anything. Do they need an opinion on a "fluke" type incident? It wasn't anybody in particulars fault.. it just happened. I think with Ryan speaking out and Ryan only, it leads to less clutter surrounding the issue. >It's like you (Ryan) are left alone on the ship ... If that is the case then Ryan sailed like a Captain. It took the losses in stride, was extremely professional about it, and showed the true sportsman it was. When other people were on my case for the decisions I made, he was apologizing to me where he had nothing to apologize about it. It was just one of those things... >Will you be in Torino with a more serious approach ? > >Marc More serious approach? How can you get more serious than wanting to be the best there? Ryan came with the ambition of winning the event. When he rolled the dice in two rounds they came up snake eyes, but not due to anybody's fault. _It just happened_. I really hope Ryan looks at it this way because his team did a good job trying to resolve the bugs, but it just didn't happen. I can remember past events where competitors castled illegally thus forfeiting the game, or could not reach their remote system and had to use something much less and did not fair as well as the public expected. Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, and Fruit is far from dead :) Peter
