Hi Nolan

My comments were not to say you did not do a good job : it must have been a very
tough week-end with all these problems. And you solved a good proportion of them
!
But why didn't you have a couple of test-games played with your config on ICC in
the days preceding the tournament ?
Most if not all the problems you had to solve emergently during the tournament
could and should have been identified (and solved) before ...
There are many people using Chesspartner without problems for engine play on
ICC. Others prefer winboard (like myself), or chessassistant, or arena, or
chessbaseGUI+auto232+Winboard or ...
But nobody can be sure that a config will work the first time you put it on use
for such kind of tricky work without any preliminary testing...
I am sure you will be more lucky next time, and sure you will actually need less
luck because you will have more experience with all this and experience is all
that counts in such matters.

Marc

PS I am not quite sure that I understand : you mean that the main bug came from
the fact that you were using fruit with its own book (in PG format) under
Chesspartner GUI ? Was Fruit using the book itself or was it droven by polyglot
managing the book between chesspartner and the engine ?
