In Cray Blitz and early crafty versions, I had a separate king safety hash that only factored in pawns (all of them) and the king's location... In Crafty I stopped that and hash the left side and right side pawn safety terms into the pawn hash, then choose the right one in the EvaluateKings() code... Saves the memory for the extra hash and gets a higher hit rate as well.
