There is preciously little information about these new CPUs. Intel limits itself
to yelling how much 'enhanced' it is, without ever mentioning what the
enhancements are, and compared to what. The phrase "graphics-intensive games or
serious number-crunching programs" does pop up quite often, and from independent
tests it seems the floating point speed is better than that of the Pentium M.

One thus suspects that the Core Solo is merely a version of the Pentium M with
improved SSE implementation. All the slogans used to advertise it, such as
"micro-op fusion" (meaning: the way AMD chips worked from the K6 on...) and
"advanced branch prediction" already applied to the Pentium M. From the
specifications it is only clear that the front-side bus speed is higher (667 MHz
in stead of 400/533 MHz), but it is not clear if this buys you any performance.
(Most likely the DRAM will not be able to keep up, and simply use more wait
states...)
