The 'insane depth' was caused by not using recap extensions, and using late-move
pruning. That's 2-3 extra plies in most positions :).

For CCT I removed late-move pruning as I can't get that to work at longer time
controls. In tactical suites and in blitz games it's worth about 100 elo, but in
longer games, I see no difference.
I also put recap extension back in, which brought the depth back to the 'normal'
12-13 ply in middlegames.

Before Qa7 Chepla had about a half a pawn advantage for black, after Qa7 it
jumped to a full pawn, and never went (much) below that.
