David Levy wrote a couple of chess programs.   He was/is an IM also.

Dave Slate was an "expert" (>2000 player).

I think Marty H (Mchess Pro) was a 2200+ player (USCF) if I recall correctly.

There are several others that come to mind over the years..  Murray Campbell was
> 2200 even before the deep blue days.  Jonathan Schaeffer was something around
2000.  Tony Warnock (lachex) was a 2200 player (USCF).  I think Dave Kittinger
was over 2000 USCF also.  I'm sure there are others I am forgetting...
