So any claims that it >is are false(a lie). I agree but chessbase do not claim that fritz is the strongest program in their advertisement. Chessbase claim only that Kramnik is going to play against the strongest chess program. The advertisemenet is misleading because people may understand that fritz is the best program today but this understanding is wrong. > >>I do not support chessbase advertisement but I think that it is not a lie but >>only a misleading advertisement. >> >>Lying is saying something that you know that it is not correct and in this case >>it is possible that deep fritz is going to be the strongest computer program in >>the time of the match and in that case the claims in the advertisement are >>correct(chessbase did not claim that fritz is today the strongest program). >> > > Wether or not Fritz someday becomes the strongest program does not change the >fact that Chessbase is lying. The advertisement say: "The classical World Chess Champion against the world's strongest computer program:" Kramnik (Russia) will play a match against the world's leading chess computer program, Deep Fritz(Germany). They do not claim that fritz is today the strongest program but only that kramnik is going to play against the world's strongest computer program. It is probably wrong but it is not a lie unless chessbase know that fritz will not become the best program in the time of the match. Uri
