Glaurung CCT8 is able to utilize two CPUs, and is therefore much stronger on dual-CPU systems. On computers with a single CPU, however, Glaurung 1.0.2 is probably stronger (and consumes about 10 MB less memory). This situation is somewhat confusing, of course. Later this spring or summer, there will be a new version which is better than both of the current versions, on one CPU as well as two. I am not sure how soon that will be, but there is a chance that it will be sooner than I planned. Yesterday night I discovered a rather ugly bug which may have a serious impact on playing strength.
