Subject: CCRL rating lists and stats have been updated

Author: Graham Banks

Date: 10:21:41 03/04/06

The March 4th update of the CCRL 40/40 Rating Lists and statistics is now
available from this link:
http://ccrl.computerchess.org.uk/4040/

There is a best versions list, an all versions list and a pure list
that removes rating distortions

We test at 40 moves in 40 minutes repeating (adjusted to the Athlon 64 3800+)
Our team of testers currently includes: Graham Banks, Ray Banks, Sarah Bird,
Kirill Kryukov, Tom Logan, Andreas Schwartmann, Charles Smith, George Speight
and Chris Taylor.

Testing news
687 games were added to the database this week.
Naum 1.91 32-bit entered the "Best versions" and "Pure" lists.
We have filtered out the games with unfair openings. (one side has 0.75 or more
advantage throughout the entire game according to both engines).

Stats news
Kirill improved the method of computing eval difference. Previously all moves
were used, now only expected moves.
The method for computing ponder hit and eval difference is now explained in
detail on those pages.
We have added lists of most similar and most different engines to the
correlation pages.

Presentation news
There are now text versions of all lists. Quote them anywhere you like!
The "Details" page now has ponder hit and eval difference.
Pairwise tables don't have colour where less than 10 games have been played in a
match.
The colours in the correlation tables are now more easy to distinguish.

Comments are welcome!

As usual our public forum is open for questions, ideas, and discussion:
