Subject: SQL and chess

Recent talk about using SQL for opening book has made me wonder about using SQL
for storing and searching games in general.

I see references to some work done by Dann Corbit years ago on a SQL chess DB.
I was wondering how this has turned out...

Is a SQL backend a good thing for people who are collecting millions of games
these days?

I see the model on Dann's site from three years, ago, does that work well, is
someone using it for a large number of games? Or has somebody tuned that even
more?

Thanks for your info.
