Yes, I have been testing with the Version 3. Junior 9 is a strong engine but when you are testing with "only" 10 fixed openingpositions then a couple of bad performances in these openings are quite expensive. And indeed Junior 9 played very bad in a couple of these: In Kings Gambit with white Junior 9 consequently played the very dubious 3.Qg4 resulting in a lot of losses and a score of only 30%. It was even worse in Russian; with black Junior 9 responded in case of 2. Kxe5 not with d6 or Kxe4 but with Qe7. Again a very dubious move leading to a lot of troubles and a black-score of only 20% in Russian!! No doubt; if I had been testing under other conditions (i.e. own books for the engines) I have no doubt that Junior 9 would have been performing much better. Ofcourse there are other engines which benefit from my testconditions like Hiarcs 10, Spike 1.1 and The King 3.33. Best regards Per
