Main advantage: it doubles black's pawns, giving black an almost permanent poor
pawn structure.
Main disadvantage: gets rid of white's bishop pair, leaving black with the two
bishops.
This move was made in a historical game between Lasker and Capablanca (St.
Petersburg, 1914). It was known before, but it was considered "drawish", so it
was a surprising choice as Capablanca was leading the tournament. Lasker scored
an impressive win, and went to win one of the most brilliant tournament
victories in chess history.
