Go up one level in this thread

A couple of points:

(1) your post is simply too big. I have a DSL connection at home and it _still_
took forever to load this post. Nobody is going to look at something that big.

(2) pick a few of the WAC positions that give you trouble and post just their
analysis. Here are the ones that Crafty struggles with. I ran the WAC suite at
10 seconds per move on my PIII/750 Sony laptop. It gets 291/300 correct on this
hardware at 10 secs/move. It misses:

incorrect: 2 92 141 163 180 183 230 235 293

The ones taking 1 second or longer to solve are:

71, 80, 99, 105, 120, 145, 157, 196, 200, 222, 228, 229, 237, 241, 252, 256,
265, 283, 291 and 297.

Again all on a PIII/750.

If you want time to solution for the above:

1, 3, 9, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 5, 5, 1, 5, 3, 5, 1, 5, 4, 1, 1, 2

It is far easier to start from a very small subset of the positions. If you see
any not listed above that are giving you problems, then we can compare notes on
those since Crafty seems to get the others in almost zero time...
