Subject: Fantastic Rybka game (revised)

Author: Chris Fieberg

Date: 02:20:46 03/08/06

Ok, it is only a 3 minute game on a slow computer (Pentium IV, 2 GHz) but look
at the moves Rybka played with such limited time!! How he demolished Fritz 5.32
is really fantastic.

Pawn sacrifice in the opening -8.Ne2! - to prevent 0-0,
Knight sacrifice - 15.Nxc5! - to open the c-file and activate the rook and
finally a sacrifice of the Queen respectively exchange - 18.Rxe7!! - to launch a
mate attack.

Game over (+3.25) after just 18 moves (mate delivered in 31).

8.Ne2!
[D]rnb1kb1r/p3qppp/3p1n2/1ppP4/4P3/6P1/PP3PBP/RNBQK1NR w KQkq - 0 8

15.Nxc5!
[D]rnbk3r/p3bppp/3p1n2/1qpP2B1/Np3N2/6P1/PP3PBP/R2QR1K1 w - - 0 15

18.Rxe7!!
[D]rnbk1r2/p3bppp/3p1n2/q2P2BQ/1p3N2/6P1/PP3PBP/2R1R1K1 w - - 0 18

Later with longer analysis Rybka found that 18.Qxh7!! is even better - one
variation ends in a nice mate.

[D]rn3R2/p5p1/3p4/q2P3B/1p3NkP/6P1/PP3P2/4R1K1 b - - 0 29
